Most interviews will have a designated time for you to ask questions. That doesn't mean you have to – or should – save your questions until the end! In fact:

  1. Asking relevant, clarifying questions (see the first article in this newsletter) naturally throughout the interview demonstrates your enthusiasm and attentiveness.

  2. You can use questions strategically to subtly demonstrate your skills and expertise. If you're interviewing for a customer service role, for example, you could ask:

  • What metrics do you use to measure customer satisfaction and service performance?

  • How does the company ensure that customer service agents stay updated on product and service knowledge?

  • How do you handle feedback and complaints from customers, and what systems are in place to ensure continuous improvement?
